Meet Amber

REAL-LIFE MOTHERHOOD THAT’S MESSY, FUN, AND ACTUALLY DOABLE.

If motherhood feels overwhelming—even when you love your kids like crazy—you’re in the right place. I’m Amber: rainbow glasses, loud house, and a brain that doesn’t always follow the plan. I created Awkward Mama to share the routines, parenting tips, and fun ideas that helped my family go from full-on survival mode to something that actually worked.

You won’t find pressure to be perfect here—just realistic support for moms who want to enjoy their kids, build better rhythms, and stop spiraling over every mess.

This blog is for the moms who:

  • struggle with structure but still crave a calm environment
  • want more connection and less control in their parenting
  • love their families deeply but also need breathing room
  • believe having fun matters, even when life is chaotic af

Awkward Mama is full of ideas that work even when your brain is overwhelmed, your house is loud, and your to-do list is laughing at you.

I’m so glad you’re here 💛

Around here, we believe:

Motherhood’s more fun when you stop trying to get it “right.”Have fun.
Make memories. Embrace the chaos.

💖 Things I Actually Love

Because motherhood should be fun, functional, and just the right amount of unhinged.

  • Most-Used Mom Hack: sweeping everything into one big pile while tidying
  • Can’t Live Without: iced coffee and our family whiteboard
  • Most-Likely to Make Me Laugh ‘Til I Pee: my husband and his savage wit 🤣
  • Thing I’ll Never Do Again as a Mom: obsess over being “crunchy” — I choose sanity now
  • Snack I Hide From My Kids: chocolate, pudding cups, and applesauce with graham crackers
  • Go-To Comfort Show: Suits or The Good Wife — because I’m obsessed with lawyer drama
  • “Me Time” = catching up on work, cuddling the baby, or farming on Stardew Valley
  • Hill I’ll Die On: you can be friends with your kids and still parent with structure
  • Most Repeated Phrase in My House: truly a tossup between “what the fuck” or “I love you” 😂
  • Words I Live By: it doesn’t have to be perfect — it just has to work for you
